A) Who is using which face mask?
You can remember people in good health want not to wear a face mask if they stay at home and do not take care of sick patients.
Cloth face mask:
It is not ideally suggested when caring for infected patients as they do not offer adequate protection, but they are better for routine use than covering your mouth and nose. Though using a HEPA filter with a face mask may increase its effectiveness, it leads to more struggle in breathing. However, high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) clean means a filter at least 99.97% efficient in eliminating mono-disperse particles of around 0.3 micrometers in diameter. Also, for the general public, if a face mask is not available, a minimum of a bandana or a scarf can use it to cover the face.
Surgical face mask:
Loose-fitting, a disposable device ready with polypropylene, effectively blocks particle droplets, splashes, and sprays that may comprise germs, keeping them from getting mouth and nose. It does not block small particles in the air that may transmit by nearby coughing or sneezing. It also includes the kids face mask disposable.
Persons can use it to care for sick persons with respiratory infections and indications such as cough, sneezing, fever, and health care and front workers.
Not for routine usage for the general public. It is ready with polypropylene material. These respirators filter out a minimum of 95% of tiny (about 0.3 microns) particles. These respirators’ face masks can trap 95%, 99%, and 99.9% of particles, smaller around 0.3 microns in size.
N95 FFRs could filter out all types of particles containing bacteria and viruses. People can use it judiciously only. They can use wear by:
Healthcare and frontline workforces attend to patients with respirational infections like cough, cold, and patients under investigation.
However, entering rooms of confirmed or suspected coronavirus patients.
Although obtaining clinical specimens, soiled health supplies, and equipment or whosoever contact possibly contaminated eco-friendly surfaces.
B) How to dispose of a used face mask?
Different microorganisms can survive on a used face mask for different durations. Authorities feel that viruses, when left exposed, can endure between some hours and some days. Our earnest request to all of you is not to throw the used face mask indiscriminately in lifts, workplaces, homes, parks, open dust bins as it can pose a possible health hazard to people who have contact with such face masks. Moreover, some people are picking them up for reuse and therefore putting their life in danger. The infected face masks have respiratory secretions on them and can disperse and transmit them through the air. Thus, please be sensitive. Always, you can wash your hands before and after taking off the face mask.
you can wash cloth face mask frequently and adequately and left to hang and air dry. If it is a kids face mask disposable, you can reuse it after washing it.
you can remove it from the chin upwards, and please take care to take it out from the strings and do not touch the front portion though taking off the face mask. After taking the face mask off, fold it half inwards. Then, fold the face mask into another half until it looks like a roll. You can wrap the face mask with its ear loops so that it will not untie. Then wrap the face mask in a tissue paper or polythene bag and instantly discard it in the yellow waste bag.
When removing the face mask, you can hold the edge of the straps attached to take the N95 face mask. You can wash your hands before and after it. Gently remove your face cover so as not to disseminate contaminants on the face mask. You can place your used face mask in a plastic bag or zip-lock bag.
